CSUN: Graduate Student Travel Awards

Up to $400 for graduate students (first author only and limited to one award per semester) who are presenting a paper, poster or performance at a peer-reviewed professional conference.

CSUN: STARS Scholarships

The EASIEST FREE MONEY you could possibly get. You only have to fill out the application once and then click “Apply” next to the scholarships that you qualify for. These range from May-August in due dates, and post the scholarships around July/August. They also have a Twitter and advertise new awards all year round. Find the application page here. 

Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid ($1,000)

Due March 15 and October 15 annually. They reserve 75% of funding for members or students of members. Application here.

COAST Student Travel Awards

Travel support for continuing CSU undergraduate and graduate students to attend and present the results of original marine, estuarine, coastal and coastal watershed research at scientific meetings and conferences.

Application deadline: No less than 75 days prior to scheduled departure date, OR your internal campus deadline for international travel, whichever is greater. No less than 45 days prior to scheduled departure date for domestic travel, OR your internal campus deadline for domestic travel, whichever is greater. US Territories are considered international for this purpose. Find the application here.

American Society of Naturalists
​Student Travel Grant

Up to $500 for a student member of the American Society of Naturalists that is presenting a paper or poster at the meeting, and has not received the travel award in the previous year. Application here. 

Rolex Scholarship (up to $25,000)
